The Road by Cormac McCarthy is truly a "must-read" for everyone.
I read it on the plane to VA. It was compelling - it would be hard to put down, so plan for that.
I'd be interested in comments from those who have read it!!

I read it this past winter and I really enjoyed it. There is a movie coming out soon with Viggo Mortenson as the father.
I'm trying to remember specific details about it, the only thing I remember is that it was very compelling and scary.
so glad people are posting on this!
sometimes i forget about it.
also, i haven't read a book in a while. sadly enough.
Kyle McClure and I had a great discussion about it in the staff lounge - we were talking about how the apparent lack of detail was really very detailing.
A movie - hmmm - I wonder how it will be.
Somehow the gruesomeness was mitigated - visualized it will probably end up r-rated.
We were saying how you actually constructed the horror yourself -which made it all the more horrifying.
I'm reading No Country For Old Men -sure started out violent!! Makes John Grisham look like pablum!!
