Another Newbery winner to check off -

I have noted before that I thought I'd start at the front end of the Newbery list - since the ones at the end seem to drag a bit.

The is the 2002 winner - and it was a great read. It's about 12th century Korea and pottery making - and I've always loved learning my history from novels!! This story did not disappoint - I recommend it.

And I'm off to the library for reinforcements!!

I read this one a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoyed it, and spent some time looking on the internets for pictures of the pottery made in the story.

One of the things I really appreciate about this book is it's a "boy" story - so few are it seems.

Of the ones I've read so far this summer, most are 'boy' books. The Dark Frigate, Crispin, Smoky the Cowhorse and this one.

I read 'Good Masters, Sweet Ladies' last week and really liked it. Have you read that one? If not give it a try, it is a quick read.
